These individuals are directly involved in looting and corruption across key departments of the hospital. দক্ষিণ বাংলার অন্যতম স্বাস্থ্যসেবা প্রদানকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান বরিশাল ডায়াবেটিক সমিতি আজ চরম অবক্ষয়ের পথে। একসময় জনসেবায় অগ্রণী ভূমিকা পালন করা এই প্রতিষ্ঠানটি এখন দানকৃত সম্পত্তি দখল এবং লুটপাটের অভয়ারণ্যে পরিণত হয়েছে। এমনকি, কর্মচারীদের বেতন লুটপাট করেও ক্ষুধার্ত কিছু ব্যক্তি ও গোষ্ঠী এখান থেকে আরও বেশি কিছু হাতিয়ে নেয়ার অপতৎপরতায় লিপ্ত।
এর পেছনে রয়েছে বিতর্কিত স্বৈরাচারী এক কর্মকর্তার একচেটিয়া দখলদারিত্ব। এই ব্যক্তি, যিনি সরকারি চাকরিজীবনে উল্লেখযোগ্য কোনো সেবা প্রদানের রেকর্ড না রাখলেও, আওয়ামী লীগের শাসনামলে ব্যক্তিগত ও পারিবারিক সম্পদে ঈর্ষণীয় উন্নতি সাধন করেছেন। তিনি বরিশাল ডায়াবেটিক সমিতির দায়িত্ব গ্রহণের পর থেকেই প্রতিষ্ঠানটিকে এককভাবে দখলদারিত্বে নিয়ে যান।
নিয়োগবিধির লঙ্ঘন এবং দলীয় কর্মীদের প্রাধান্য
প্রতিষ্ঠানে দারোয়ান থেকে উচ্চপদস্থ কর্মকর্তা পর্যন্ত নিয়োগ দেয়া হয় তার দলীয় সাফাই বাহিনী এবং লাঠিয়ালদের। এই বাহিনী হাসপাতালের বিভিন্ন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিভাগে লুটপাট এবং দুর্নীতিতে সরাসরি জড়িত। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, সম্প্রতি হাসপাতালের তৃতীয় তলার অপারেশন থিয়েটার (ওটি) থেকে মূল্যবান সরঞ্জাম চুরির সময় কর্তৃপক্ষের এক ঘনিষ্ঠ সহযোগী হাতেনাতে ধরা পড়ে।
চুরির ঘটনার পর কর্মচারীদের চাপে পড়ে ওই ব্যক্তিকে কারণ দর্শানোর নোটিশ দেয়া হলেও তার কোনো উত্তর পাওয়া যায়নি। নোটিশের নিচে প্রশাসনিক কর্মকর্তার হাতে লেখা "উত্তর দেয় নাই" বাক্যটি আজও দুর্নীতির প্রকৃত চিত্র ফুটিয়ে তোলে।
চাকরিচ্যুতি: লোক দেখানো নাটক
চাপে পড়ে অভিযুক্ত কর্মীকে চাকরিচ্যুত করার নাটক হলেও বাস্তবে তিনি তার স্বাক্ষরযুক্ত চিরকুট দিয়ে প্রতি মাসে নগদ বেতন উত্তোলন করেন। যদিও নিয়ম অনুযায়ী প্রতিষ্ঠানের বেতন ব্যাংকের মাধ্যমে হওয়ার কথা। এই ধরনের লুটপাটের অসংখ্য প্রমাণ এখন আমাদের হাতে।
